LBN 420
By Lino Benz
LBN 420 is a dark molecular nebula in the constellation of Lizard, close to the better-known Gecko Nebula. The nebula is poorly studied, so much so that it lacks an official name and is devoid of scientific research, making it a mystery to astronomers. It is estimated to be about 1,700 light-years away, based on the location of the nearby Lacerta OB1 complex. Below, you can see NGC 7223, a barred spiral galaxy.
