Waxing Crescent Moon
By Natan Fontes
This beautiful image of the northeastern region of the Moon was captured at a time when libration was favorable for the Humboldtian Sea to be visible on the waxing crescent Moon, which favored the presentation of this region. Also highlighted are the impact craters Hercules, Atlas, and Edymion, as well as Lacus Temporis. At the top, the waxing crescent Moon is captured at the same time as the main image, highlighting the area presented in the lunar context.
