NGC 5981 NGC 5982 NGC 5985 Dragon Triplet

NGC 5981, NGC 5982, and NGC 5985 are located in the constellation Draco. The three galaxies are hundreds of millions of light-years from Earth. At the top is NGC 5981, a spiral galaxy seen almost perfectly edge-on, located about 120-130 million light-years from Earth. At the center of the image is NGC 5982, an elliptical galaxy located about 120-130 million light-years from us. Finally, NGC 5985, a spiral galaxy, is about 140 million light-years from Earth.
