The Core of the Prawn Nebula (IC 4628)

The Prawn Nebula (IC 4628) is a large emission nebula located in the constellation Scorpius, about 6,000 light-years from Earth. It is mainly composed of ionized hydrogen, glowing in reddish tones due to radiation from nearby young, massive stars. The nebula spans roughly 250 light-years in diameter and is part of an extensive star-forming region.
