The Dark Seahorse - B150
By Jordi Jofre
This image shows LDN 1082, also known as Barnard 150, a dark and sinuous nebula located in the constellation Cepheus, about 1,200 light-years away and stretching across 20 light-years! Within its dark filaments lie several T Tauri stars and embedded protostars, which can only be detected in infrared or radio wavelengths. These are clear signs that, behind this curtain of interstellar dust, star formation is taking place. The image has been taking during four nights in July 2025 from the Curiosity Observatory located in Àger, Catalonia under a B3 sky.
