NGC6337 Cheerio Nebula
By Carlos César
NGC 6337 is a small but bright planetary nebula in the constellation of Scorpius 2.5º from the scorpion sting. It is a rare type of because it contains a binary nucleolus in its core. The bright inner ring of the nebula is presume to be the equatorial density enhancement. The nebula contains a number of low ionization knots which are the result of the processing outflows from the central stars.
