The Trifid Nebula (M20)

The Trifid Nebula (M20), in the constellation Sagittarius, is a combination of emission, reflection, and dark nebula, famous for its dark lanes that split it into three lobes. It lies about 5,000 light-years from Earth and is an active star-forming region.
