M94 - Double Ring Galaxy
By Carmelo Garcia de Rich
The M94 Group or Canes Group, is a extended group of galaxies located about 13 million light-years away. Due to its eye-like resemblance, it's also known as the Cats Eye galaxy or Crocs Eye galaxy. Although the galaxies in this cluster appear to be from a single large cloud-like structure, many of the galaxies within the group are only weakly gravitationally bound, and some have not yet formed stable orbits around the center of this group. Instead, most of the galaxies in this group appear to be moving with the expansion of the universe. Is best seen from the Northern Hemisphere during the months of March, April or May. I used narrowband filter for Ha, and a wideband for details. Obtained from 245 shots x 300", between March to to May, having very bad weather conditions.
