M81 Bode's Galaxy
By Loris Ferrini
Bode's Galaxy, (also known as M 81 or NGC 3031) is a spiral galaxy located about 12 million light years from Earth, in the constellation of Ursa Major! Those red "novolas" that you see are nebulae belonging to that galaxy. The central part (bulge) of warmer colors means that it is formed by older stars compared to the arms that are blue (younger and hotter stars).
