Situated in Centaurus are these 3 subjects: The Mag 2.75 star Iota Centaurus at a distance of 58ly. The lenticular galaxy NGC 5102 or Iota's ghost discovered in 1835 by john Herschel 12Mly distant. PGC 46521 (ESO 382-45) galaxy possibly 42Mly distant. There are many more faint galaxies here to try and spot too.
