Centaurus A

By Aldo Zanetti

Centaurus A (NGC 5128) is a peculiar galaxy, halfway between ellipticals and spirals. It is crossed by a dark band of dust that increases its charm, in the middle of which you can see areas of intense star formation and blue giant stars. The image was taken by my friend Vikas Chander, whom I thank, and elaborated by me in Pixinsight. Capture data: Moravian C5A-100 camera on Planewave CDK24, Chroma filters, Planewave L-600 mount; Deep Sky Chile observatory
