Stellar Nurseries of the LMC
By BRUNO ROTA SARGI
A deep image of the Large Magellanic Cloud, a satellite galaxy of the Milky Way located about 160,000 light-years away. This region hosts several stellar nurseries and young star clusters, including nebulae NGC 1955, 1968, 1974, 2011, 2014, 2020, 2021, and the cluster NGC 2004. These structures are shaped by intense radiation from massive stars and stellar winds that sculpt the surrounding gas.
